BREXIT: SEF notifies British nationals registered in Madeira and Azores for biometric collection

BREXIT! BRITISH IN PORTUGAL AND PORTUGUESE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

The Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF) today begins notification to schedule the collection of biometric data for the new resident card of British citizens registered in the Azores and Madeira islands under the Exit Agreement.

- Azores: Delegations of the SEF of Angra do Heroísmo and Ponta Delgada;

- Wood: SEF Service Station in the Citizen's Shop of Funchal.

In addition to providing data for the new card, they can also update them.

British citizens already registered on the Brexit Portal will be notified by the SEF via the email addresses entered in the Portal, in chronological order of submission of the documentation.

The certificate with the QR code, which can be downloaded from the Portal, remains an official document of residence in Portugal under the Exit Agreement and is valid until the new card is issued. The current residence documents of the European Union also continue to be accepted for travel purposes, provided that it is valid until the new residence card is issued.
