Immigration Health Surcharges increases

In a recent development impacting immigration processes, the Immigration (Health Charge) (Amendment) Order 2024 officially became law on 16 January 2024. The order, now available on legislation.gov.uk, introduces changes to the Immigration Health Surcharges, affecting applications made on or after 6 February 2024.

One of the most notable adjustments is the increase in the 'normal' surcharge, which will surge from £624 per year to £1,035 per year for the specific visa being applied for. Additionally, the lower rate surcharge will also see an uptick, rising from £470 per year to £776 per year.

As a result, individuals planning to submit immigration applications today will be subject to the revised health surcharge rates.

The Immigration Health Surcharges play a crucial role in contributing to the National Health Service (NHS) and ensuring that immigrants have access to necessary healthcare during their stay in the UK. While the increase aims to support the sustainability of healthcare services, it is essential for applicants to factor in these adjustments when budgeting for their immigration journey.

This surge in health surcharges prompts a need for individuals to stay informed and plan accordingly. The team at DMA Solicitors is ready to assist you in navigating these changes, providing expert guidance tailored to your immigration needs.
